How to Order a DNA Test Without Leaving Your Home

Due to the current situation in the country and worldwide, here is a detailed guide on how to take a DNA test without leaving home. A courier will pick up your samples and deliver them to the lab — FREE of charge!

No medical education, special skills, or experience are required to follow this guide. Everything is simple and straightforward. Step-by-step instructions:

  2. Collect samples yourself using items commonly found at home. Instructions for sample collection are below.

    • The courier arrives and notifies you of their arrival, leaves a delivery package at your door, and steps back a few feet.
    • You place the samples in the package, leave it at the door, and step back.

  1. The courier delivers your samples to the lab. A specialist will contact you to confirm receipt.
  2. You make the payment only after the lab receives your samples. You can pay using one of the following secure methods:

How to Collect DNA Samples Without Leaving Your Home

A) Oral Swab Collection (Buccal Epithelium)

Lab specialists recommend using new cotton swabs and new paper envelopes. However, if this requires visiting public places, you can use alternative materials from around the home:

  1. Take a clean envelope for each participant. If there is no envelope, you can make one from a clean sheet of paper (do NOT touch the part of the paper that will come into contact with the swabs). Label the envelope with the participant’s full name or nickname, relationship (e.g., father, child, mother, maternal grandmother, paternal grandmother), date of birth, and date of sample collection. Label an envelope for each participant.
  2. Use 2-4 cotton swabs per participant. If you don’t want to purchase a new package, use clean swabs from home (ones that have not been touched).
  3. Hold the swab by one end, place the other end inside the mouth, and rub the cotton tip on the inside of the cheek 10-20 times with slight pressure.
  4. Remove the swab from the mouth. Carefully cut off the cotton tip that was in the mouth and let it fall directly into the pre-labeled envelope. The part of the swab you held should NOT go into the envelope; it should be discarded. Place 2-4 cotton tips in each envelope for each participant.
  5. Seal the envelope using the adhesive strip. For homemade envelopes, use glue or tape. Do not use saliva to seal the envelope!
  6. Repeat the process with other participants. Place the envelopes from all participants into one large envelope, keep it in a dry place at room temperature until the courier arrives. Submit an online request for a DNA test or call our courier service at +995 322 47 01 95.

B) Collecting Other Types of Biological Material

If you are unable or unwilling to collect an oral swab, collect other biological materials that contain DNA. The type of material does not affect the test’s accuracy, so collect what is feasible.
